The City of Sarasota Police Department (SPD) knew within days that the charges of sexual battery and rape against Christian Ziegler in 2024 were fabricated by the alleged victim.
The SPD instead of ending the criminal investigation of Christian Ziegler shortly after they started the investigation, two SPD detectives went on a "witch hunt" not only to take down Christian Ziegler, but his wife, Bridget Ziegler.
Judge Carroll
Unfortunately for the Ziegler’s political adversaries seeking the Ziegler's downfall and having taking a perverse pleasure in viewing details of the Ziegler's private lives, not only were alleged criminal accusations on Christian Ziegler baseless, 12th Judicial District Judge Hunter Carroll determined that the Ziegler's 4th Amendments Constitutional rights were violated by the actions of two SPD detectives..
On 7/1/24 Judge Carroll ruled that three SPD search warrants concerning Christian Ziegler's IPhone, Ziegler's Google account and his Meta Instagram data amid rape allegations were illegal and violated Ziegler’s constitutional rights.
Bridget and Christian Ziegler have now brought forth a lawsuit against the City of Sarasota and the two City of Sarasota Police Department detectives. The lawsuit says the Ziegler’s were deprived of due process and suffered lasting harm to their family, careers, and reputation.
A question that now needs to be asked is why no City of Sarasota official has asked for an independent investigation after Judge Carroll in a clear and definitive manner ruled that the Ziegler's 4th Amendments Constitutional rights were violated by the actions of two SPD detectives.
An investigation by a law firm that spcifies in civil rights cases to find out what happened and what the City exposure could be concerning the SPD investigation of Christian Ziegler.
Those City of Sarasota officials include Sarasota City Commissioners with some of those Commissioner’s being a licensed attorney.
Bullock and Brown
Not a word from former Sarasota City Manager Marlon Brown, present interim City Manager Dave Bullock, the City Attorney, the City Clerk and all the current and former City Commissioners with two being bar certified, whose job it is audit City functions, which included the investigation of the Ziegler's.

Barfield then used information gathered from illegal advidivits to write a false narrative in a rush to a criminal judgement of Christian Ziegler from his perch at The Florida Trident.

All of the above mentioned City officials, who took on oath to protect to and defend the Constitution and safeguard justice for all, but City officials have said not a word.. Hating the Ziegler's was more powerful.
A significant concern now for the taxpayers of the City of Sarasota is the potential expenditure of millions of dollars in both defending against the Ziegler’s' lawsuit and in additional payments should the outcome favor the Ziegler's.
Additionally, City Hall officials can no longer appeal Judge Carroll’s ruling—finding that SPD detectives Angela Cox and Maria Llovio infringed upon the Ziegler’s' constitutional rights—because the statute of limitations to appeal has expired.
Battie and Franklin
Some of these same City of Sarasota officials could be facing another lawsuit filed by a local neighborhood activists Kelly Franklin, who claims she was defamed by her fellow Democrat,, Sarasota City Commissioner Kyle Battie.
Battie targeted the well respected neighborhood eactivist Franklin in a intentional and well-orchestra race baiting attack that Battie perpetrated at a City Commission meeting on 1/26/24. Battie has never apologized or been censured by the Sarasota City Commission.
Ziegler and his wife, Bridget Ziegler had encountered significant political opposition from various individuals locally and state-wide and they had become targets of Deep State political operatives, both locally and state-wide.
The" Con Man's Con Man" Barfield after being sentenced to his third prison sentence.
The Ziegler's became targets of a notorious 68 CONVICTED felon jailhouse lawyer Barfield with leaked information according to Barfield "from those close to the investigation." Information leaked to Barfield weeks after the SPD had no evidence to arrest Christian Ziegler.
"Those close to the investigation" fed red meat to Barfield, who took pleasure in feeding red meat from his perch at The Florida Trident to those taking pleasure in Barfield's salacious description of the Ziegler's private life.
LYRA Apartments
The SPD should have found the allegation against Ziegler unfounded within days. The SPD should have determined within days that the reported victim's account of alleged sexual abuse and rape was not substantiated following a review of surveillance footage from the individual's LYRA Apartment, which was obtained shortly after the incident was reported.
For example, the LYRA apartment’s surveillance video shows Ziegler knocking on the woman’s door and greeted by the alleged victim and allowed to walk inside and not what she was to tell the SPD two days later, which was that Ziegler rush through the door, threw her on a bar stole
and raped her.
What the video further reveals to the SPD detectives 38 minutes after Ziegler entered the apartment with no resistance from the alleged victim was that she was so upset in alleging being sexually assaulted and raped that she exits the apartment together with Ziegler with no
sign of any distress of being molested and raped.
The SPD views Ziegler leaving the apartment complex out a side door to his truck. The SPD views the woman behind Ziegler, as she leaves on her way to walk across the street of her apartment to pick up a pizza she had ordered at the Mozzarella’s Pizzeria.
This alleged rape victim walked over 200 yards to cross Ringling Boulevard to Mozzarella’s Pizzeria to pick up her pizza. She talks with the owner of the establishment, as she waits to get her late lunch after her "encounter" with Ziegler.
The pizzeria owner stated that the alleged victim did not mention the disturbing incident she reportedly experienced only minutes earlier. The owner of the establishment told The Sarasota Phoenix that he observed that the alleged victim appeared calm and did not seem upset.
After speaking with the owner, the alleged victim paid for her pizza with a credit card and returned to her LYRA apartment across the heavily trafficked Ringling Boulevard to have her lunch.
Attempts by the two SPD detectves to allude to the alleged victim being intoxicated was absurd. How would she navigate a walk to the pizzeria and back to her apartment with the pizza in hand back across a highly traveled Ringling Boulevard on a severely recently injured leg?
Neither SHT reporters nor any other journalists visited Mozzarella Pizzeria to obtain an eyewitness account of the alleged victim's conduct following the reported incident.
Local, state, and national media were not interested in seeking justice, they were only concerned in feeding those Zigler's haters red meat to feed their perverse lust in taking down the
Ziegler's.
The SPD detectives Cox and Llovio had also conducted a controlled phone call with the victim and Ziegler, which further proved Ziegler's innocence, yet they persisted in investigating a crime that had never happened.
Even after Ziegler posted a video that left ABSOLUTELY NO way Ziegler committed any crime, Cox and Llovion continued their obsession to take down Ziegler.
Cox and Llovio obsession to take down Christian Ziegler bordered on the criminal when they obtained affidavits that violated not only Christian Ziegler’s Constitutional rights, but they also
violated his wife Bridget Ziegler Constitutional rights.
The affidavits did not mention Cox and Llovio had information that there existed clear evidence exonerating Christian Ziegler of an alleged rape charge on 10/2/24. If Cox had mentioned that information seeking Judge Thomas Krug to sign off on search warrants, the warrants would not have been authorized.
When all of Cox and Llovio efforts to take down Christian Ziegler and make public the salacious information on the Ziegler’s private life failed, information that Cox and Llovio obtained from
illegal filed affidavits found their way to the longtime UNI Party hit man and a 68 CONVICTED felon Barfield called a “Con Man’s Con Man” by a U.S Federal Judge Richard Lazzara.
Information Barfield received from those “close to the investigation” was information from unlawfully filed affidavits, which Judge Carroll ruled was gathered unconstitutionally.
Barfield then began a false salacious narrative from his perch at The Florida Trident. A Barfield’s bogus narrative bordering on the illegal and fostered by information from inside the SPD.

Barfield's false salacious narrative was eagerly picked up by Ziegler’s haters at the Sarasota Herald Tribune and other media outlets, who began the rushing to the criminal judgement of Ziegler’s and the public lynching of the Ziegler’s.
It made no difference to those haters of the Ziegler’s that their Constitutional rights were violated, according to Judge Carroll's decision regarding a investigation of criminal charges against Christian Ziegler by SPD detectives Cox and Llovio.
Antunes
Those Ziegler haters, who have taken a perverse pleasure in publicly voicing information on the Ziegler’s include Cathy Antunes, who has a radio show called “THE DETAIL” on WSLR and Julia London Ferguson, who has a blog called “Dear Bubbie.” The duo appeared to have a strange perversion obsession for Briget Ziegler's private life.
Ferguson
Antunes and Ferguson could face significant legal issues for publicly sharing blatantly false information, which is defamatory and damaging, as discussed on a Antunes WSLR/FOGARTVILLE podcast called "THE DETAIL" dated 11/3/25. The similar legal problems the City of Sarasota and Cox and Llovio presently have.
Antunes and Ferguson publicly voiced information on WSLR's obtained by SPD detectives Cox and Llovio during a criminal investigation, which 12th Judicial District Judge Hunter Carroll
determined was a violation of Ziegler’s Constitutional rights.
Schurr and Testerman
Two other Ziegler haters, who have strange perverse obsession and fixation with Bridget Ziegler private life are Save Our School (SOS) organizers Lisa Schurr and Paulina Testerman. This duo does not miss an opportunity go in a frenzy over Bridget Zeigler private life at Sarasota County
School Board meetings.
Currently, Schurr, Testerman, Antunes, and "Dear Bubbie" Ferguson and others are sharing claims against the Ziegler’s based on three affidavits—filed illegally by two SPD detectives—that Judge Carroll found to violate the Ziegler’s' constitutional rights.
As of today, there has been no action by City Hall officials to initiate an investigation of the procedures of SPD detectives Cox and Llovio, who according to Judge Carroll blatantly violated the Ziegler's Constitutional rights.
No investigation has been initiated for over a year and a half to determine if Cox and Llovio are two rogue SPD police officers or is their procedure a common practice at the SPD.. Most importantly are the procedures employed by Cox and Llovio and others at the SPD been used to gather information illegally to arrest and convict.
For over 18 months, there has been no investigation to determine whether Cox and Llovio acted independently or followed standard SPD procedure.
