Since 2015 a UNI Party has been created in the City of Sarasota, as a Democrat Party supported by the Arts and Culture Coalition, financed by the local Republican establishment and a PAC managed by a Republican operative out of Tampa has turned the City of Sarasota BLUE.
With the Democrat BLUE City Commission financed by establishment Republicans and a Sarasota Arts and Culture Coalition, neighborhood activists influence at City Hall has near disappeared and the racist gentrification of Black neighborhoods in Sarasota continues.
THE UNI-PARTY HAS CORRUPTED SARASOTA
Not only have the Sarasota City Commissioners, dominated by the UNI-Party with five Democrat Commissioner supported by the Arts and Culture Coalition and financed by the local Republican establishment and a PAC managed by a Republican operative out of Tampa, a "FOR SALE" sign has been placed in front of City Hall.
A FOR SALE sign which one New York City developer, after working with the Commission, remarked that in all his years of handling development projects nationwide, the level of corruption he experienced in Sarasota was the "WORST" he had ever encountered.
Ferrendino
FERRANDINO DECLARES CITY OF SARASOTA BLUE IN 2015
In 2015 the Chairwoman of the Sarasota CountyDemocrat Party (SDEC) Rita Ferrandino declared that the SDEC had turned the City OF Sarasota “BLUE” with the election of Liz Alpert and Eddie joining three other Democrats on the Sarasota City Commission.
Ferrandino did not mention turning Sarasota Democrat BLUE was financed by the Republican establishment located at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the Argus Foundation.
Ferrandino did not also mention that in 2015 when the City of Sarasota became Democrat BLUE a UNI Party took control of Sarasota City Hall
and continues to be in control in 2025.
Shugar/Clermont/Voelker
The UNI Party is in control with five Democrat City Commissioners elected to the Commission with the assistance of a PAC called Sarasota Arts and Culture Coalition (SACC). A PAC put together by two Republicans, Chris Voelker and Ron Shugar along with Democrat Dan Clermont.

Another major controller of the City Commission is Jennifer Rominiecki, who is the carpetbagger from New York. Rominiecki parachuted into Sarasota turning Selby Gardens with a 90 million addition turning the venue into a gathering of the white social elites at galas reminiscing of the Plantation Mentality of Sarasota’s racist past.
Rominiecki is the same individual who destroyed 102 trees, including 16 healthy native live oaks, and five grand oaks. It was four acres of protective habitat destroyed and for no reason. Romniecki claimed that Selby was immune from the city’s grand tree ordinance, which applies city wide.
Franklin
As local neighborhood activists Kelly Franklin publicly stated at the Sarasota City Planning Board, “They were needlessly clearcutting four acres when they could have built the new greenhouse in the
same footprint as the five 5 small greenhouses it is replacing.”
Thaxton
Environmentalist and apparently a recovery aronist Jon Thaxton of the the Gulf Coast Community Foundation (GCCF) spoke for Rominiecki.
Rominiecki and Hansen
No doubt because Teri Hanson of the GCCF gave Thaxton a job when he could no longer run for Sarasota County Commission. (Hansen is major supporter of Rominiecki and her daughter, Crystal Bailey is married to Charlie Bailey's son, who is Selby's COO).

wife contributed $550,000 to Sheriff Chronister’s campaign. DeBartolo. who resides in Tampa pleaded guilty in 1998 to failing to report a felony in a bribery case, which led to former Louisiana Gov. Edwin W. Edwards getting sent to federal prison.

Brody was the City Commissioner,who before he became a Sarasota City Commissioner he was essentially fired as a local Assistant State's Attorney for practicing law without a license for six months and not showing up for an early Sunday morning court appearance at the Sarasota County jail.
Brody is the same CityCommissioner who the Sarasota Herald Tribune reported that, "According to the various complaints on 3/29/2021, Brody stormed into City Hall yelling “to the point of being red in the face” – while also behaving in a “very bullying” manner that “frightened” those present and left them feeling as though they were in a “hostage situation.”

Battie has raised his hand in approval everytime for any proposal or project that his mentor, who is the former City Manager Marlon Brown put on agenda, which Merrill, Robinson, Rominiecki and all the others responding to the For Sale sign in front of City Hall.
It made no different to the trio of Volker,Shugar or Dan Clermont, who put together the Arts and Culture Coalition PAC that Battie, who had never before being elected in 2020 been involved in one Coalition of City
Neighborhood Association (CCNA) meeting, one local neighborhood meeting, never applied to serve on a City Advisory Board and only voted 11 times in 30 years.

Even Battie’s mentor as he grew up as ateenager, Tek Konstantinou believed Battie was unqualified to be a City Commissioner. Konstantinou is licensed Michael Saunders real estateagent and the son of Eugenie Clark, the renowned marine biologist and the founder of Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.
Battie is nothing more than a waterboy for the UNI Party Republicans Merrill and Robinson, who have turned City Hall into a Shit Show of “Pay to Play” developers making the City their fiefdom.

BTW, Bullock was the County Administrator when Robinson, as a County Commissioner raised her hand on approval of any “Pay to Play” proposal that Bullock put on the agenda for approval.

Battie was a unregistered masseur and parttime greeter/bartender at Voelker’s watering hole on States Street after sashaying back into Sarasota a few years ago before he was discovered by then Sarasota City Commissioner Brody and the LGBTQ political operative Gabriel Hamemt.
Before returning to Sarasota where he grew up,Battie had been walking the modeling runways in New York and Miami Beach and a stopover in Indianapolis where he was evicted from his apartment after being
alleged of abusing a dog and losing his driver’s license.

There are various other get-togethers with Brody and Schleicher mentioned in text messages: Brody to Schleicher on July 21,2020, "Yep I'm sorry. I will call you in a bit, just finishing a meeting here.” Brody to Schleicher on April 15, 2021 after Brody meltdown on March 29, 2021 "I'll respond with times when i return tomorrow."
SCHLEICHER PICKS TIME/PLACE AND WHO ATTENDS MEETINGS AT CITY HALL
The text messages give a clear indication Schleicher is in control of City Hall as Schleicher picks days, time, and who attends meetings.
For example, on April 16, 2021--again just twoweeks after Brody holds City Hall hostage-- Schleicher texts Brody about an upcoming meeting at City Hall, "I provided you days and times. Pick one. Stop having your secretary call me." Schleicher continues, "Who all is going to be there? I don't like surprises."
Brody replies, "Me Marlon Brown Pat Robinson Mark Cunningham (county) Chris Chanfaglioni (Kimely horn) Anyone else you'd prefer to hear from? No surprises. I just appreciate your willingness to meet."
