DeNIRO PART OF AN SPD THAT FAILED TO ARREST PORTER AS PORTER MOLESTED AND RAPED CHILDREN FOR OVER 3O YEARS
Sarasota County Commission candidate Jim DeNiro, who is a 30-year veteran of the Sarasota Police Department, stated at a recent Downtown Sarasota Library forum sponsored by the League of Woman Voters and the Suncoast Searchlight media that----
“The most important thing I did was a diversion program for victims of human trafficking.”

While DeNiro was involved with his “most important” accomplishment in his 30-year SPD career, self-proclaimed Bishop Henry Porter was continuing his over 30-years of molesting and raping children at his Westcoast Church and School for Human development.

According to the trial of child molester and rapist Porter in 2023, Porter’s victims were molested and raped for over 30 years at Porter’s residence in the City of Sarasota neighborhood of Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores and Porter’s Church and School of Human Development in the Downtown Sarasota neighborhood of Gilespie Park.
The victims, some under the age of 12 years, were molested and raped only blocks away from DeNiro’s SPD headquarters.
DeNiro served on the Sarasota Police Department for 30 years—the same period during which Porter was molesting and raping children in downtown Sarasota and other City of Sarasota neighborhoods.
DeNiro had to know that there was a SPD investigation in 1990, and a SPD and a FBI investigation in 2002 of Porter when he stated that, “the most important thing I did was a diversion program for victims of human trafficking.” When the “most important thing” should have been investigating Porter who was molesting and raping children blocks away from his SPD headquarters.
The 2002 SPD investigation of Porter had over 40 child sexual abuse victims coming forth stating that Porter sexually molested them not only in Sarasota, but in other U.S. states, Europe and Africa.
The totally scandalous and inept SPD and FBI investigations had over 40 individuals stating Porter molested children, and despite that sworn information, Porter was not arrested by DeNiro’s SPD.

Reasons given in 2002 were that the statute of limitation had run out, which allowed Porter to continue sexual molesting children for over 20 years until he was arrested, convicted and imprisoned for the rest of his life.

WATKINS VIDEO LEADS TO PORTERS ARREST
It has become disgracefully apparent that, had Chad Watkins not courageously come forward with his video identifying Porter as the man who sexually abused him beginning when he was 15 years old in a Daytona Beach hotel room, Porter may never have been arrested, convicted, and jailed for life in prison.
After Porter was arrested following Watkins' video, police interviewed more than 20 victims, all boys aged 14 to young adults, who provided statements outlining the abuse by Porter in various locations.
The question that needs to be asked is, what victims of DeNiro’s diversion program for victims of human trafficking was DeNiro speaking about? It certainly was not the hundreds of Black children Porter was molesting and raping for the over 30 years DeNiro was at the SPD.
Why aren't other media outlets, not just The Sarasota Phoenix, asking why DeNiro's "diversion program for victims of human trafficking" did not include Porter's victims of sexual abuse? (Calls to DeNiro from The Sarasota Phoenix concerning the 30-year scandalous and inept SPD investigation have not been returned)
DeNiro needs to be asked, as he runs to be a Sarasota County Commissioner, why his SPD did nothing for over 30 years as Porter was molesting and raping children only blocks away from his SPD headquarters.

Another question that needs to ask of DeNiro is this: Why are two of his fellow SPD officers still walking the streets after they opened the City of Sarasota to a multimillion-dollar lawsuit after a local judge ruled they violated the Constitutional rights of two City of Sarasota residents?
WHO IS INVOLVED WITH DeNIRO’S SPD EPSTEIN-TYPE COVER UP AND WHY?
These questions need to be asked of DeNiro, not the softball questions put forth by LWV and Suncoast Searchlight. Most importantly, questions asked of DeNiro should lead to who was involved with the cover-up of Porter’s abuse for over 30 years, which has led to a Sarasota Epstein-type scandal.
Also, was DeNiro’s diversion program for victims of human trafficking just a cover up for the inept SPD and FBI investigations in 1990 and 2002?

Answers to that question could lead to those involved in more than a 30-year coverup of Porter’s sexual abuse that continues today. Individuals, who are among the movers and shakers of Sarasota’s political, financial and social interests. Individuals, who finance with $millions Porter’s longtime protégé Nate Jacobs's---WESTCOAST BLACK THEATRE.
Strong accusations, but let us start looking into what is a local Epstein-type coverup by first asking the candidate for the Sarasota County Commission DeNiro, why during his 30 years at the SPD he turned his head away from Porter’s molesting and raping of children only blocks away from his SPD headquarters.
